| Erik Sjøberg was born at the island Bornholm. Nexø was his hometown. Erik had 2 brothers, Aage (1906) and Svend (1914), he had a sister too, Inger (1912).
Eriks father Sven was from Sweden, thats where the name "Sjöberg" comes from. Erik served his apprenticeship as Shoemaker and was here for 9 years. In 1933 Erik was admited by the Danish Operaschool, he was a student with Vilhelm Herold. In 1937 Erik was educated as OPERASINGER with the "Royal Danish Theater". |

| Erik had a great career, started as Bariton and later as Tenor. In 1950 he was appointed as "Royal Chambersinger".
In 1962 Erik returned to Bornholm, and Nexø. Where he and his wife, Valborg (1909), lived with their 3 children, Torben (1938), Britta (1945) and Carsten (1948). All honour to his memory! |
